Kanzenban Volumes

In 2002, Japan experienced a revival of the once forgotten DragonBall series. Due to this resurgence of interest in the series, on December 4, 2002, Shueisha began to re-release the original tankoubon in a complete kanzenban ("Perfect Edition") format. The kanzenban release condensed the original 42 volumes into 34, with each volume containing approximately 15 chapters. Unlike the tankoubon, the kanzenban retained all of the original colored pages found in Weekly Shounen Jump and were slightly larger in size than the tankoubon (shown below). As a special treat, the volumes featured restored artwork and newly drawn cover illustrations by Toriyama Akira.

For a more in-depth look at the differences between the original weekly serialization, the economic tankoubon, and the more expensive kanzenban, check out our "Manga Comparison" feature.

Kanzenban Volume Index
Listed below are these 34 volumes, which have been divided into 5 pages of 7 volumes each. We've also included additional detailed information about each chapter. To access a specific chapter, simply click the chapter title and you'll get an in-depth look at the chapter, something you won't find anywhere else. Please note that unlike the tankoubon section, we are not providing dedicated pages for each kanzenban, as we feel all relevant material is already covered in the tankoubon section. To access this information, please visit the tankoubon section.
