| Toriyama One-Shot: Hyowtam Posted by: Herms |
Friday, October 2nd, 2009 @ 6:56 PM CDT |
 |
Today we're unveiling the latest entry in our manga downloads section: Hyowtam, an eight page Toriyama one-shot that appeared in E-Jump, a special Jump issue that came out in 2000. In keeping with E-Jump's electronic theme, Toriyama made the manga entirely on his computer. It stars a strange being called Hyowtam, shown below, who comes down from the world above the clouds in search of his precious egg that he dropped. The story is quite different from DragonBall, and has more of a Dr. Slump feel to it. I hope you enjoy it, and don't worry, we should have more Toriyama one-shots up in the future! |
| DragonBall Kai Episode 025 Posted by: Hujio |

DragonBall Kai Episode 025 is now available in the "Episode Guide" for your viewing pleasure. This episode covered the second part of DragonBall Z episodes 053 through 054, and one scene from episode 055, which is equivalent to chapter 264 and the first eleven pages of chapter 265. I will note that the order of events in both Z and Kai are quite a mess compared to the manga. I was really hoping this would be fixed in Kai, but we still continue to have nearly a whole page of chapter 264 that has never been animated. In addition, one scene from DragonBall Z episode 055 was used in this episode, but the episode's director, Orime Tatsuya, was not credited in Kai for some reason, though I'm sure he will be in the next episode. Anyway, be sure to check back next week for another exciting episode of DragonBall Kai! As always, DragonBall Z episodes 054-055 have been added to the "Episode Guide" and chapters 264-265 have been added to the "Manga Guide". Enjoy~! | "Remastered" Individual Discs Canceled! Posted by: Hujio |
Friday, September 25th, 2009 @ 5:46 PM CDT |
 |
Remember those mysterious individual disc releases of the first two DragonBall Z movies from the "remastered" steel book double feature we reported about over a month ago? Well, thankfully they've been canceled... and they will not be missed. Mania.com, formerly known as Anime on DVD, has posted a list of FUNimation's new title solicitations for November, as originally released by RightStuf. The two DVDs in question were amongst the releases on the list, however with a big "CANCELED" right next to them. In addition, their listings have been pulled from both Amazon and RightStuf. It appears that FUNimation agreed with my initial thoughts about these releases and decided it was a bad idea to flood the market with so many copies of these movies, especially if they have the "Dragon Box" versions coming in the near future. |
| Yo~osh! Production Guide Updated Posted by: Hujio |

I know I've been saying for a while now that I was going to be updating the "Production Guide", and while it isn't exactly where I wanted it to be before updating, I think it's good enough for now. So, for the longest time the guide has only had the credits for the DragonBall TV series, but now you'll be able to find credits for just about every piece of animation ever released. Overall, I've tried to make this guide one of the most comprehensive production/credit guides around, which turns out is really more than any sane person really needs to know about the subject. Anyway, here's a quick run-down of what's new to the guide: General OverviewA general overview of what exactly all these credits really mean and how the "Production Guide" itself works. The page is broken up into three sections; Japanese names, staff hierarchy, and credit structure. DragonBall Z CreditsA complete listing of DragonBall Z credits covering all 291 opening episode credits, the first 150 ending episode credits (141 to go!), and both TV specials. DragonBall GT CreditsA complete listing of all opening and ending credits for the entire series, including the TV special. Movie CreditsA complete listing of all opening movie credits and ending credits for all of the DragonBall movies and the first three DragonBall Z movies. Main Staff BiographiesSimilar to the "Cast Guide", we will start including detailed biographies of some of the main production staff. There aren't too many at the moment, but expect more in the future.
Man, what an update? Be sure to check back later for a DragonBall Kai episode update. In the meantime, there's plenty here to distract you from whatever you're supposed to be doing. And if you need some more distractions, be sure to follow us on Twitter! Links: Production Guide, Kanzentai on Twitter |
